Two audiovisual programs produced by Pauline priests and brothers of ST PAULS Creative earned recognition in the 45th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) held at the Citystate Tower Hotel in Manila on November 23, 2023.
Gabay Sambuhay, a bi-monthly program that features the liturgical feast days, doctrines and devotions of the Catholic Church and their relevance to the faithful, was given a Special Citation under the Best Adult Educational/Cultural Program. This is the second consecutive year ST PAULS is receiving the same award. The documentary film The Gift of 500: Ang Limandaang Taong Kuwento ni Kristo at ng Sambayanang Pilipino won last year.
Another ST PAULS production, Visita Iglesia, a virtual Lenten spiritual journey through the seven significant and historic churches of the province of Laguna, also received a Special Citation under the Best TV Special category. On the other hand, “The Crucified-Risen Jesus Walks With Us” Stations of the Cross, produced in Talisay, Batangas was nominated in the same category.
Provincial Superior Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite, Creative Director Fr. Angelo Paolo Asprer, and Audiovisuals Manager Fr. Keiv Aires Dimatatac, with Gabay Producer Cl. John Cesar Caalem, and Visita Iglesia Producer Earlson John Reyes, received the accolades from the Archbishop of Manila and CMMA Honorary Chairman Jose Cardinal F. Advincula, Chairman Mr. Edgar A. Cabangon, and Executive Director Fr. Rufino C. Sescon, Jr.
The CMMA annually brings together dedicated journalists, artists, and content creators from all over the country, working on multiple platforms: print, radio, television, social media, music, and advertising.
