In its pastoral ministry, the Society of St. Paul is engaged in bringing God’s Word to the young people of today. It has organized the St. Paul National Bible Quiz (SPNBQ) which ran for ten years until it stopped due to the pandemic COVID-19. At its high point, the Bible Quiz was able to gather more than a thousand young students to participate in the elimination and championship rounds held in various regions of the country.
Now that people are recovering from the hardships and disorientation brought about by the pandemic, the Society of St. Paul has resumed the Bible Quiz with an invitational and limited edition, participated by schools that subscribe to The Youngster, the magazine for the youth published by ST PAULS. In the morning of September 15, 2023, twenty schools with three contestants each, gathered at the SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia in the course of the 44th Manila International Book Fair.
After a round of easy, average, and difficult questions, St. Theresa’s College won the Championship trophy. Caterina and Giuditta Cittadini School, Inc. garnered the Second Prize, and Third Prize went to San Felipe Neri Catholic School.
The SPNBQ Invitational was managed by the Bible Ministry committee headed by ST PAULS Creative Director Fr. Angelo Paolo Asprer. The event was made possible by generous sponsors like SM Foundation, Felicidad T. Sy Foundation, Primetrade Asia, Inc., Asia Pacific College, Maria Gonzales Golsby, Julie Obillo Geronimo, Infinity Love, and Jomell Julian MD.
