It is not the first time that there has been a meeting in Ariccia  dealing with the Institutes of Pauline Secular Life  but this is the first meeting at an international level.  Among previous meetings we can recall  the  First Convention of the Aggregated Institutes which, however, involved the Delegates of the  Italian Province only.  A typed memo of that Convention reads:  On November 17 and 18, 1980 and in the Divine Master House in Ariccia, the Superior General, the Delegates General and representatives of Aggregated Institutes came together to consider and examine the life of the Institutes, their nature and activity and their relationship to the Pauline Family. These were days of prayer and of reflection on the  will of the Founder as revealed in his writings, in the Statutes approved by the Holy See and by experience.

After almost thirty years and in line with the priority No 5 of the VII General Chapter of the Society of St. Paul, the General Government  called for this  International  Meeting  which is aimed at “offering to the Delegates a substantial instruction to ensure a specific, correct, complete and effective guidance.  The meeting will also offer the participants  the opportunity of sharing their experiences and their wishes together with their suggestions for a better working of the Institute  in the different nations and as to how all this may be coordinated at all levels.”

We wish all the delegates good progress and a pleasant stay in Ariccia!
